Derek’s career started in the purchase and supply of raw materials 1970’s and over the following years progressed through the ranks, managing and leading organisations in the buying and selling of metals and alloys.
Derek has spent over 30 years understanding the complexities of purchasing and procurement, making it his ambition to make purchasing attainable for all organisations, and through his time in ERA has been able to utilise his vast experience to demystify procurement process in order to help individuals, teams and companies achieve their purchasing goals.
Derek has in-depth knowledge and understanding of purchasing and procurement processes across multiple disciplines ranging from Marketing Print, Office Supplies and Archiving to Travel, and is widely regarded as the go to guy when investigating new areas of spend for review: he is the consultant who created the secure cash handling review process within ERA.
As part of ERA, Derek has delivered projects for clients all across the UK and Ireland, from manufacturers to charities and schools, helping them to better understand their procurement processes, deliver category reviews, support new ERA Associates and win clients. Developing supplier relationships and gaining their respect is a key element in his approach.
His passion to help individuals, teams and organisations achieve their goals means he is a much sought after Specialist Procurement Advisor within ERA and is widely regarded as a safe pair of hands.
