Further cost pressure in an upwards direction has been seen since the beginning of this year as BT Business has increased PSTN (Analogue) and ISDN-2 line rental, and many call charges from 1st January 2018.

Analogue line rental is up 66p to £24.60/month, ISDN-2e up £2.20 to £56.20/month. BT Business Plan (and variants) and BT Business Call Essentials inland and mobile calls up 1 or 2p/min, set-up up 2p/call. BT Business Plan and Essentials have merged two more international bands leaving just seven, so some countries have increased in price.

This continues a pattern of at least yearly cost increases which means that businesses are likely to be substantially over-paying for traditional services.

Outside of this there are also prospects for organisations to benefit from changing and improved technology beyond the like for like savings opportunity, there is never a better time to conduct a full telecommunications cost review.
